Connecting

If I have any control at all, it is with the ability to choose my own responses to life. With that, I want to respond by warmly letting go of my chase towards an impossible mirage. I want to respond by resiliently moving forward towards the most meaningful pursuit I can possibly think of: connection.

I want to respond by connecting with the pressing needs of my mind, body, and passions.

I want to respond by connecting with others through locating what is so often invisible, sharing the present, being vulnerable, and sharing warmth.

I want to respond by connecting with the community through researching verifiable history and current events, seeing what is pressing, and advocating & being there as much as I can.

I want to respond by connecting with nature through understanding, nurturing, and experiencing each aspect of the massive forces at play and the awe-inspiring beauty.

The most meaningful of connections and my most fulfilling memories typically were when I was present, warm, and in full embrace of my imperfect, attainable, and vulnerable self.

About Kevin Carlstead

I graduated as a hospitality and psychology student at University of Denver. I spent most of my teenage and young adult years in the hospitality industry. I am still searching for what industry suits my personality and talents so that I can feel more meaning throughout my days. My current career pursuit has me enrolled in a graduate program to become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I was born and raised in San Diego, CA. I love music with something to it. I love life with something to it. I have made it one of my purposes in this life to integrate both of these things that I love. This blog and my own songwriting has given me the platforms to do that very thing. Thank you for reading.
